Gestalt Principals & Video

It was interesting to see how the principles played into art. I think that we all know the principles but at the time of creating art or when we see art we don't really recognized that they are used. We see the picture as a whole rather than smaller parts at first and see the smaller parts only after we look at it closely. I think that all art falls under one of the principles if not more. it was also interesting to see how or minds could  complete shapes or outlines with out them really being drawn in. It was also cool to see symbols within signs that we see often like the arrow in the FedEx logo and the one in the formula one slogan. I think that we subliminally apply the methods to our designs. The video about color and how it could be an illusion was really interesting because we normally don't go that deep into thought about what we see. Colors enable  to see similarity and differences depending on the shades. They eye is attracted to whatever displays the most light. The environment the color is on can also make it appear a different color Sensory info is meaningless but how we interpret it is the part that matters. The brain evolved to see the world in a way that was useful.
