The thinking and making reading was interesting because it presented viewpoints that you might not necessarily use when you think about design.  It also makes you realize how many different things can be considered design and how design can be hard to identify. It makes you stop and realize everything is design and that there are a lot of different types of design.  My favorite sections were the first and the last one. The first one I liked because it gave you a story that you wouldn’t have thought had anything to do with design and then described how design came in effect. The last was one of my favorites because it gave you the perspective of what others might think and made you think about what design really was. What I got from the reading was to keep my mind open to all different types of things and that most everything is design. I can apply this to my major by not thinking that design is specifically just one thing but remembering design is very diverse. I think it will help me keep my ideas original and fresh. I think it pertains to the object I choose because some of them are just basic objects although they all had to be designed they may not be what most people first think of when they hear the word design. I think they were made is what most people consider the basic style but then they made it their own by adding something a little different to give it a new style.
